Sekinchan – Paddy Field of Selangor

Known as the “Rice Bowl of Selangor”, you may notice many visitors at this magnificent place purchasing  sacks of freshly manufactured rice, savouring local seafood delicacies or even snapping photographs for various reasons. Situated approximately 100km North-West from the hearts of Kuala Lumpur, Sekinchan is one of the many perfect getaways from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life.

Frankly driving there via Sg Buloh then Kuala Selangor road  & yada yada yada is a real drag.  If you feel you have not vomited a lot in years, the winding road to Sekinchan is D absolute place for you. Drivers out there, this is the time for you to test your F1 driving skills! You might even get to be in the Malaysia Book of Records for  “ The Longest Time Car Passengers Vomited from KL to Sekinchan.” Do ensure you prepare petroleum tanks for your passengers for vomiting purposes.

Just snap because I Kiasu. Smile with tongue out

If you prefer snapping photos while the paddy is green, it would be advisable to go in the month of March or September.  If you prefer when the paddy is gold and long,June or December would be the best because of its harvest season.

One of the most remarkable places to take picture is this tree. Feel free to come out with emotional poses creative ideas to begin with. With that, you might end up trying to get best photo in model competitions.

Besides that, Sekinchan is also a substantial producer of bird nests.(I heard that using it as facial mask is good for you too!) Thus, it is not strange if you can find stall selling bird nests as drinks at almost all eateries in Sekinchan.
